Zach received his mission call on Wednesday, February 20, 2013. We all gathered at Grandma and Grandpa Butler's house for him to open it. Zach had a few friends (Branson, Dirt, Jake, Tanner, Tanner, Ally and Kim) and then we had a few friends from our ward (Randy and Kristina Eck and Bailey and Sydney Lamborn and Harriett Barlows) and then a few joined us via Skype, phone or Facetime (Diana and family, Debbi, Shannon and family and Grandma and Grandpa Johnson, Katie and Avery). Zach was called to serve in the New Zealand Auckland Mission reporting to the New Zealand MTC on July 4th. He was so excited---he has always wanted to go to New Zealand and talked about it all the time. We were worried that he would be disappointed--but instead, he was very excited. I think he would easily say that was the best day of his life!! A week later we received an itinerary that he would be flying out of Salt Lake City on July 2nd and arriving in New Zealand on July 4th. He will be flying with three other Elders--one who is from Cache Valley! You can watch the video of him opening his call
